Headaches? Try Essential Oils

Rosemary oil

  • Rosemary oil may be used to treat headaches and improve circulation. It may have anti-inflammatory and pain-killing properties.

Chamomile oil

  • A person can drink chamomile tea to relax and unwind but Chamomile oil is believed to have a similar effect. Helps with stress and anxiety and can have the calming effects.

Eucalyptus oil

  • Eucalyptus may be used to clear sinuses. People experiencing headaches due to blocked sinuses may find that inhaling eucalyptus helps. Eucalyptus oil can be effective for relieving pain if inhaled. You may rub it on your chest and/or rub some under your nose.

Peppermint oil

  • Peppermint oil is stimulating and may relieve tension headaches when applied topically. Peppermint essential oils have been used for treating headaches by applying to the temples and forehead can provide relief from tension headaches.

Lavender oil

  • Lavender is often used to help people get to sleep and to reduce stress, anxiety, or depression. Some people believe that headaches can be from stress. Use with a carrier oil, such as coconut oil, and rub behind ears, on temples, and forehead.
