Gather the raw resin from pine trees anytime from early spring till fall. The spring resin is soft and sticky. It hardens as the season wears on.

Pine Resin Salve Ingredients

¼ cup pine resin ½ cup Vasoline

Pine Resin Salve Directions

• Add pine resin to a small amount of water and simmer in a double boiler. Heat together on low heat until pine resin melts. Check often.

• Strain through a coffee filter or strainer.

• Return to double boiler and add Vasoline. Gently heat until mixture is melted. Pour into tins or jars and store in a cool, dark place.

This is the basic pine resin salve recipe. Increase the amounts of ingredients for a larger batch.
